Physical Capacity Exam/Work Conditioning
In addition to out-patient Physical Therapy, we are now providing Job Specific Physical Capacity Evaluations (PCE) utilizing the Occupro system (occupro.net/software).  Occupro provides some of the most clear and concise information in easy-to-read graphs and charts indicating the readiness of your worker to return to work and at what level they are able to return.  Consistency of Effort and Reliability of Pain is automatically calculated throughout the test so you know exactly whether your client did their best and if you can use their subjective reports of pain to make functional decisions.

A Physical Capacity Exam (PCE) evaluates an individual’s capacity to perform work activities related to his or her participation in employment.  A PCE will typically include a client interview, medical history review, musculoskeletal screening, along with functional testing.  Functional testing includes graded material handling activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling; positional tolerance to sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crawling. Pain and biomechanics are constantly monitored throughout the exam and used in the decision making process.  Once the exam is completed, a report is generated which summarizes the job-specific physical abilities, performance consistency, physical demand level of the client, limiting factors and return-to-work recommendations.

We also provide Work Hardening and/or Work Conditioning programs.  For those workers who have finished traditional Physical Therapy but still aren’t quite ready to return to their medium or higher physical demand job, we offer full body intensive conditioning programs that focus on work simulation activities to get injured workers back to work.
